5 - Henderson and Gwynn5 October 2001

We've enjoyed watching our two future Hall of Famers this year. Tony Gwynn has been pinch hitting most of the year. He's batting over .300 for the 19th year in a row. He'll be coaching baseball at San Diego State College next year. We'll miss him at Padres games.

Rickey Henderson sets a new major league career record every time he walks, scores a run, or leads off a game with a home run. We're hoping that he can reach 3,000 hits before the year ends.
