Jack Miller & DWL24 June 2002

Today we held another one of our environmental lunch seminars at the Sizzler restaurant. This time, Jack Miller spoke about the new regional stormwater permit and what the San Diego County government is doing about it. Turns out that stormwater is a major source of pollution. Many people don't think about the fact that stormwater drains carry water, untreated, straight to our rivers, bays, and the ocean. The water carries pesticides, herbicides, oils, detergents, fertilizers, and whatever else anyone dumps out onto their driveway or the street straight to these places as well. Jack is in charge of the program that is helping to make people aware of this type of pollution. Click on the photo to learn more about it.
