Matt took me on a nice, scenic drive around San Diego this afternoon. First, we drove out to the Roberto's mexican restaurant on Penaquitos Lagoon, one of our favorite places to eat. But we didn't eat at the restaurant. We brought our food up to a bench overlooking the ocean in nearby Torrey Pines State Park and ate there instead. Afterwards, we took a little walk along one of the trails, then resumed our driving tour, taking the coast road through La Jolla and Pacific Beach. Finally, we drove around a bit on Mount Soledad and headed home, stopping at a Starbucks in Mira Mesa along the way.

Matt will be eligible to get his driver's license in a few weeks. What does he want for his birthday? I don't even want to ask!
