December 2002
As has been our tradition over the past 16 years or so,
we bought our tree "wrapped" today. As usual, the people at
Target asked if we'd like to see it unwrapped first. They have a mesh
sleeve into which they can insert an unwrapped tree so people can fit
them in their cars for the drive home. Our family, however, likes to buy
our tree based on how it looks in its original twine wrapping. When we
get it home, the kids walk around the tree with the ropes in hands and
watch the branches ease their way down into position. Without exception,
we've always ended up with beautiful trees this way.
The new thing is that they both can touch the top of
the tree!
