February 2003
We did a "dry lab" today at Mesa. The students
didn't actually do an experiment. Their report consisted of a safety review
and some graphing exercises. It will be due next week, so I told hem they
were free to stay as long as they wanted, to work on their report or ask
me questions about the course material from their lecture sections. A
few students went home right away. Several stayed for quite a while, some
for the entire 3-hour class! I spent most of the time walking around and
answering questions. Occasionally, I'd go check email or update something
on my computer. Toward the end, I played a few games on GoldToken.com,
like this game of Stack4 with Mom. It was nice being back in the classroom
again, after a week of substitute teachers during my trip to DC. I was
glad to be back. The students seemed happy too.
