March 2003
We visited the Mapparium at the Mary Baker Eddy Library
for the Betterment of Humanity this afternoon. It's a large glass globe
with a walkway through the middle for people to view the world of 1932-35
from the inside at a scale of 22 miles to the inch. It's quite impressive
from a visual as well as an auditory point of view. We enjoyed playing
with the interesting echos from one side to the other. No flash photography
was allowed, however, so Tom and I did the best we could (rollover) to
document the visit with my Kodak DC3200.
