17 March 2003Last night, we visited the Coolidge Corner Theater in Brookline for their "Oscar Shorts 2003" fundraiser. Here's the description from their website: "If you can't make the L.A. Oscar gala, join us at the Coolidge for our own mini-ceremony as we present finalists in the Live Action Short, Animated Short, and Documentary Short Subject categories. This year's scheduled films include*: the live action shorts "Fait D'Hiver", "I'll Wait for the Next One", and "This Charming Man"; all five animation nominees; and the documentary short "Mighty Times, The Legacy of Rosa Parks", with special guest, actor and activist Nick Latour. More special guests and presenters to be announced. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to catch these rarely screened nominees, and we're providing the popcorn and other goodies with an open reception concessions bar during the program!" DWL |
