Ehukai beach is on the north shore. It's the site of
many surfing championships when the Banzai pipeline and 15-meter waves
are present. Today, the waves were only a meter or so, but still quite
impressive. The beach is steeper than any beach I've seen, dropping off
perhaps 100 feet from the lifeguard station behind me down to the water.
It's certainly a nice place from which to watch a sunset.
