24 September 2003Today, I spent a lot of time at Torrey Pines park, working on my laptop in the front seat of my car. I had hoped to be more productive than in the office, and that's how it turned out, as I finished one project and made some good progress on another. I even graded a set of quizzes during the lunch hour. Sometimes a relaxing setting without interruptions (and without the Internet) makes all the difference. These flags atop the park's entry hut caught my attention as the hang glider hovered above it. They reminded me of California's political circus and Bush's blunders on the other coast, and how important it will be to vote in the next few elections, the first of which, for me, is only 13 days away.
