October 2003
Some days I wish we never switched from Mac to Windows
computers in 1997. We had sufficient problems with our old Mac IIsi from
1991-97 that it really doesn't seem so bad. Another rationalization is
that, well, most of our workplaces and schools use Windows computers.
Only in my job at Miramar College do I encounter Mac computers and, while
they're pretty nice, they always have problems connecting with the printers
and never seem to be working quite right. Then again, the Mac computers
in the labs a're being used by several teachers, all of whom have their
own ideas on how to configure them.
Still, when the blue screen of death comes around,
as it did this week following the latest "Microsoft Windows Update"
download to this Micron computer and Matt's Dell computer upstairs, we
computer addicts aren't very happy.
