This is kind of a fun lab, where the students react magnesium with concentrated
hydrochloric acid, then collect the resultant hydrogen gas in an inverted
graduated tube. They learn all about stoichiometric calculations and the
properties of gases. They also get to handle 12 molar hydrochloric acid,
one of the more dangerous chemicals of the semester. Fun fun!
