The rainwater was pouring off the roof of this building in Kansas City, Kansas. Later in the day, as we traveled west on I-70 to Topeka and Manhattan during the late afternoon, we noticed the temperature dropping from mid-40s to under 30°F, and the rain turning to snow. The trip from Topeka to Manhattan ended up taking two or three times longer than we had planned, with our speed being reduced to 35 mph or slower through the drifting snow and sleet that accumulated to two or three inches along the way. For me, this is quite unusual and interesting! For Kansans and the rest of my team out here, it's just annoying.
