Scott and I attended a trombone master class tonight at Rancho Bernardo High School with Chris Houlding, one of the best trombonists in the world. Last night, Mr. Houlding played a "house concert" in Vista. Scott had heard about the concert from his trombone teacher, but we didn't know much about it. Turned out we had to travel quite a bit north, along some dark, windy roads to get there. We had expected it would be at a church or a school, but when we got there, we found out that it was in somebody's house, a lovely adobe structure that they built themselves. The concert was held in the large living room, filled with people sitting on chairs and pillows. A few more people were looking on from the kitchen and inner courtyard. We got on the mailing list and look forward to attending more concerts there in the future.
