We had to pick up Matt at his Esperanza rehearsal yesterday to get him to the Maynard Ferguson concert in time. One ended at 4 pm and the other started at 4 pm. Esperanza Drum Corps practices either at RB High School or at a parking lot and warehouse in an industrial park. Today, they were auditioning for parts in their show. Matt says that the Esperanza 3rd trumpet part is higher than the 2nd part in his HS marching band, and the 2nd and 1st parts are both higher than the high school 1st part. He'll be quite happy playing the 3rd part this year.
