Intersection of 30 and 5308 February 2004

Well, here I am in Arkansas, for the first time ever. This is the intersection of Interstates 530 and 30. At the time I took this photo (see also my Feb 6 entry), I had no idea how complicated the highways around Little Rock can be, but after getting embarrassingly lost countless times during the past week (I write this on Saturday, Feb 14), I now have a passing understanding of the system. For example, I now know that just north, or south, of this intersection, Interstate 30 crosses the Arkansas River right next to the site where the Clinton Library is being constructed. According to the large banner visible from I-30, only 278 days remain until its grand opening. It looks like it will be worth a return trip to this city.

(I'm kinda hoping that Tom will include this photo in his next Top 50 for pqdsms's second two years.)
