The Mt. Carmel girls varsity team made it to the county championship game this year and played its final game at San Diego State College's Cox Arena last night. This is part of the pre-game ceremony. #10, who is being greeted here by the rest of her team and the cheerleaders, played in Cox Arena and helped to win the county championship in her freshman year three years ago. This time, however, the Sundevils ended up losing to San Diego High School, who outplayed our girls in the second half. As an armchair coach, I think it might have been better if the actual coach would have put more than just six Sundevils into the game (the starting five, plus one substitute). Then again, I'm far from being a basketball expert, and the coach got them to the finals, so she obviously knew what she was doing.
