Trails along the cliffs11 March 2004

Despite my good intentions, my running program did not resume today. I had taken some time off for a few reasons, including travel, a foot injury, a cold/flu, and laziness, not necessarily in that order. Now, this morning, I packed my running clothes into my yellow bag and brought it out to the car. In the afternoon, I even conjured the motivation to get out of the office and over to Torrey Pines, the location of my favorite running trails. Then it hit me, a new, albeit unintentional excuse for not running. I had packed only one running shoe. Argh!

Fortunately, I had my hiking shoes on so I set off on the somewhat steeper trails that I don't usually run on. This is one of the few parts of the trail where one cannot see a tremendous view of the ocean, towering pine trees, or spectacular cliffs. You can see the other 51 photos I took during my late afternoon walk by clicking on this one.
