22 July 2004

I was invited to stay in Tucson for another day, so we went out to dinner at El Charro. The restaurant's specialty is "carne seca" (dried beef) which I decided to try and would have again anytime. It was finely shredded meat that had been dried then spiced up and recooked. Very nice. This photo is from the drive to the restaurant, around 7:30 pm, taken toward the west through my car windshield. Due to Tucson's position at the eastern end of the Pacific time zone, the days start and end much earlier than in San Diego.
