I spotted this gray whale just as it was breaching with its calf. Pretty amazing shot, I'd say, if it weren't a statue at the Birch Aquarium.

Today I went over measurements, precision, and unit conversions in class. It was hard to tell if the students understood everything or not, as they asked very few questions. Maybe it was just as hard for them to tell. We'll find out soon enough.
