Scott and Susan with El Greco. We went with Mom and
Dad to the San Diego Museum of Art this afternoon. As luck would have
it, we arrived in Balboa Park just at 2:00 pm, which is when they have
a free organ concert every Sunday. So we got to hear the Spreckels
organ being played by the San Diego Civic Organist Emeritus, Robert
Plimpton, for an hour. Later, we walked up into the pipes area to take
a look around. The organ console is an Austin, the same as what Dad
uses in Holden, so he enjoyed taking a look at the details. Scott was
surprised and impressed to see that our museum has originals from the
likes of Giotto, El Greco, Monet, Rubens, Monet, et al. Matt enjoyed
the
exhibits of Asian art and culture.
