This is the mission bell at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton. I was there for work, so I stopped on the way out and snapped this from my car. I had thought about getting out to frame the photo better, but decided to stay in the driver's seat, as there was a helicopter hovering around above the valley. I'll be spending more time here next month, so might get a few more chances, with better lighting. Today there were thunderstorms brewing in the mountains to the east, so the clouds here are more interesting than those we usually see here in San Diego County.
