Scott finishing up a wave yesterday morning in Del Mar. I spent most of my time today finishing up on lab grading, and writing two exams for this week's chemistry class. In an 8-week semester, it's hard to schedule exams very well. This semester, I ended up giving two exams during the final week: one on Tuesday, covering only the four most recent chapters in the textbook, then a comprehensive final exam on Thursday. I have committed to grade the first one on Tuesday night, and return it to them on Wednesday so that they'll not make the same mistakes on the final. I've also asked for some feedback on how they like having two exams in three days. In a normal 16-week semester, they'd have a full week between these exams.
