Here's Scott at another Wednesday night band rehearsal. They march and play and march some more. As usual, the music is growing on us, and will be a favorite by November.

I typically go to these rehearsals for the whole three hours and make use of my time taking photos, grading papers, running around the track, or whatever. Tonight I ate dinner and wrote a chemistry quiz for tomorrow morning's class, then snapped photos and listened to the music for the rest of the evening.

This morning I worked at home. Sometimes it's more peaceful at our kitchen table than it is at my desk, which seems to invite constant visitors regardless of my need for concentration. Matt had fallen asleep on the couch downstairs, probably quite late, so he was there all morning, sleeping as I worked. It was a very productive morning for work and very nice being there with Matt before he leaves for Irvine.

As I was leaving, I noticed a package on the doorstep. It was Matt's new backpack for school that we had ordered on Saturday. His laptop fit into it perfectly, and it's not very big, so it won't get very heavy.
