Due to some sort of mix-up at the door that isn't worth explaining, Craig and managed to get into the Staff Luncheon today. Technically, no faculty were allowed, and it's not as if we were crashing the party intentionally, but the people at the door insisted that we go inside for lunch. Hamburgers on the grill, special condiments and salads, a band, cheerleaders, door prizes, loudspeakers, etc. As far as we could tell, we were the only faculty in there, so it felt as if we had snuck into an exclusive club where we really didn't belong. Fortunately it's a friendly group of people and we had a nice time. Both of us had to cut out early for classes. Maybe we're try getting into one of the U.S. Open luncheons this weekend. I'm sure they've been sold out for months.
