Here are Scott and Susan at last night's band tournament. Vista High School is about 25 minutes northwest of us, near the city of Oceanside. Matt's band took seven busses to get there. We drove up separately.

Tournaments are the main fund-raising event for high school marching bands. We shelled out $18 to get into this one and the grandstands were packed on both sides of the field.

Last year, Matt's band went to Hawaii for a competition and marched in the Rose Bowl Parade. In other years, they've gone to Europe. It's quite a good experience for the kids.
