another "Roadside America" website (unrelated)14 March 2003

Passing through Lebanon, Allentown, the Lehigh Valley, and Easton gave me a warm sense of familiarity. These places I've encountered before remain with me, whether I realize it or not. As we sped down I-78, I spotted Roadside America on old Highway 22, which parallels the interstate. This minature village full of model trains was one of our favorite places to visit from East Stroudsburg in the 1960s. I was glad to see that it's still open, but chose not to stop in, as we had quite a few hours and unpredictable traffic ahead of us through New Jersey, over the Hudson, up the Connecticut coast, and into Cranston and Belmont/Cambridge, our destinations.
