Scott's 4th grade class went on a field trip to Torrey Pines State Reserve. Here is the docent explaining things to the class. Scott, wearing a Padres cap, is one of two kids who appears to be paying attention.

Field trips are a wonderful opportunity to get to know your kids at a new level. You'll see them with their peers, not just how they are around the house. I loved these times and deeply regret the few occasions when I felt like I had to be at work and ended up missing a field trip. Fortunately, those occasions were rare and I have many wonderful memories of my kids at special places around San Diego.
